'China's Nostradamus' warns US will lose Iran war in chilling prediction

Professor Xueqin Jiang, dubbed "China's Nostradamus," has delivered another alarming prediction concerning the escalating US-Iran tensions in the Middle East.

The Chinese-Canadian scholar, who hosts the YouTube channel Predictive History with 2.28 million subscribers, gained widespread recognition after a May 2024 video containing three predictions went viral due to its extraordinary accuracy.

Two of Professor Jiang's forecasts from that video have already come true with striking precision. He correctly predicted Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 election and his successful path to the presidency, as well as Trump engaging in hostilities with Iran once in office.

His third forecast warned that the United States would suffer defeat in this war, "forever changing the global order".

The Yale College alumnus, whose predictions rely on applying Game Theory to historical and current affairs, has now issued disturbing new warnings about the unfolding Middle East crisis and Donald Trump's role in the situation, reports the Express.

The current state of the conflict

A two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran was negotiated on April 7, which included provisions ensuring "safe passage" for ships navigating through the Strait of Hormuz. While this development has somewhat eased tensions in the global oil sector, analysis of ship-tracking data from MarineTraffic by BBC Verify reveals that only a small number of vessels have actually made it through the strait so far. Additional ships are believed to have completed the passage, though they did so without broadcasting their positions, reports the Daily Star.

Moreover, vessels operating in the region have purportedly been warned they risk being "targeted and destroyed" if they try to pass through the strait without obtaining Iran's explicit authorization.

Before hostilities began on February 28, approximately 138 ships traversed the Strait of Hormuz each day. A substantial backlog of vessels clearly persists on both sides of the waterway, with oil supplies not moving as smoothly as many had anticipated.

Following unsuccessful peace negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan, on April 11 and April 12 between the United States and Iran, the current ceasefire remains in effect but is widely viewed as precarious.

The troubling new forecast

In a YouTube video posted to Professor Jiang's channel on April 2, titled 'Trump World Order', the distinguished scholar asserts: "So remember, this war in Iran, it's not ending. In fact, many people believe it's only starting to ramp up.

"There are rumors that Donald Trump has already authorized the use of ground forces and so we could see an invasion of Iran as early as this weekend, but certainly definitely this month.

"Right now, America has only about 50,000 troops in the Middle East, and the geography, the terrain, makes it very hard to control."

What a ground invasion of Iran would look like

Professor Jiang has outlined in extensive detail exactly what a ground invasion of Iran by the United States would involve, and the scenario presents a deeply troubling picture.

Using a map to illustrate his conflict theories, the professor explains: "So, you have these mountains, the Zagros mountains, which allows for the Iranians to hide and conduct guerrilla warfare and use drone strikes and artillery strikes. Then you have the deserts [Dasht-e Kavir and Dasht-e-Lut] which makes it very hard to cross."

"So, even if the Americans were to attack from Iraq, they would have to face the mountains. If they were to attack from Pakistan, from the east, they would have to face deserts."

"And if they were to attack from the south, they would face all these mountains [Zagros mountains] and also you're far away from Tehran, which is ultimately your objective."

Offering insight into what he believes is the current U.S. strategy, the professor notes: "There's lots of conversations about what the Americans are trying to do."

"Right now, the consensus seems to be that the Americans first want to control the Strait of Hormuz in order to elevate the strain on the global economy."

"Already we're seeing lots of signs that America is preparing for a long, long war. There are already 50,000 troops in the Middle East and a lot of them will be deployed against Iran."

The professor also points to a letter from Marine Reserve commander Lt. Gen. Leonard F. Anderson IV, which directs reserve troops to "prepare your family" and get ready to "deploy, fight, and win", with the letter noting "this is not a rhetorical exercise" as it calls on reserve troops to verify their readiness. We have not independently verified this letter.

The Professor continued: "So not only have they sent 50,000 troops to Middle East, but they're preparing to call the reserves as well. So this seems as though America is preparing for total war."

Circling back to his previous assessment, Professor Jiang reinforces his view that if a ground invasion moves forward: "America would lose this war because a ground invasion would fail and the Iranians are fully prepared for a ground invasion". He additionally cautions that if America suffers defeat in the conflict, the "American empire would die" and be forced out of the Middle East completely.

"They would lose the petro dollar and the US dollar as a global reserve currency. The third thing is - the global economy would collapse."

Donald Trump's chilling motivation behind the war The professor goes further in his analysis, presenting an alternative viewpoint that encourages consideration of whether Donald Trump is pursuing this conflict with strategic intent.

The professor poses: "Let's use game theory and say, 'What if for some strange reason, Donald Trump wants to lose his war in Iran? What if he wants the American empire to collapse? What if Donald Trump wants to destroy the global economy?' Then he'd be a genius. Right?"
